We’ve been raising the bar (and a fair few cakes) over the past six months for the Rosemere Cancer Foundation, packing a lot of heart, soul, and food (and in some cases, blood, sweat, and tears) into every event. From baking our way to greatness to surviving the most intense challenges, here’s a look back at how we've made a difference - one treat or challenge at a time.
The Great fulfilmentcrowd Bake-Off (14th May)
Our Bake-Off in May was a piece of cake - well, several pieces, actually. We managed to raise £187.50 (including £37.50 Gift Aid) through our delectable delights (although some were a few frights). No one ended up with food poisoning and we raised a decent amount for a very good cause. Plus, we didn’t have to bring lunch in for a whole week!
Matrix to Martland charity trek (30th May)
All that cake needs to go somewhere and we all want to make sure we can fit into our Christmas jumpers when the time comes. Our Matrix to Martland Walk saw us raising a staggering £1,850.48 (including £346.66 Gift Aid), as well as stomping a fair few steps out - 11.2 miles to be precise. With the sun shining and spirits high, we pounded the pavements and turned every step into support for cancer patients across Lancashire and South Cumbria. Walking for Rosemere? We’d call that a step in the right direction! A cheeky pint at the end didn’t hurt either.
Born Survivor (14th September)
Our crowning glory has to be the Born Survivor event, where our team braved mud, obstacles, and a lot of sweat to raise an incredible £1,684. It wasn’t just about surviving; it was about thriving—and pushing our limits to support cancer patients through their fight.
Small, but mighty initiatives
Sweepstake (June-July)
Our June-July sweepstake raised £57.50 (including £11.50 Gift Aid), proving that even the smallest bets can make a big impact.
Tuck shop (July-Present)
Our charity tuck shop has been a continuous hit with a sweet £70 raised so far. From sugary snacks to salty treats, it’s clear that a little indulgence goes a long way towards supporting those in need. After our charity trek and Born Survivor obstacle course, we’re pretty confident we can turn those calories into coins.
Olympics lunch (6th August)
In true Olympic spirit, we didn’t just compete; we raised £62.50 (including £12.50 Gift Aid) at our Olympics-themed lunch. Whether it was the burgers or the banter that brought people together, it all added up to a winning contribution for Rosemere.
Curry Lunch (8th October)
The fun (and fundraising) carried on into October - It’s an amargeddonation. On 8th October, we spiced things up with a Curry Lunch. This was a ‘second to naan’ event with food prepared by our very own Fulfilment Specialist, Fayza Khan. We celebrated National Curry Week with homemade curries in exchange for donations, raising an impressive £156.25 (including £31.25 Gift Aid). Food is obviously the ‘ghee’ to our hearts…
Total Raised: £4,160.49 (and counting)
With all these events combined, we’re thrilled to have raised £4,160.49 for the Rosemere Cancer Foundation. And while we’ve hit this milestone, we’re not stopping here.
Why we do what we do
The Rosemere Cancer Foundation is close to our hearts. Their mission to support world-class cancer treatment across Lancashire and South Cumbria is one we’re proud to stand behind. By funding cutting-edge equipment, making treatments more comfortable for patients, backing local research, and facilitating top-quality training for clinical staff, Rosemere is at the forefront of the fight against cancer. Every penny we raise goes towards helping them continue this incredible work. We might be having fun whilst raising money (that’s probably why they call it FUNdraising, geddit?!) - but we committed to the real reason behind our endeavours.
What's next?
Later this month, we’ll be getting our creative juices flowing with pumpkin painting. It’s a chance to let our spooky sides shine and donate while we decorate. Smashing (pumpkins).
We’re just getting started, and with your help, we’ll keep pushing towards bigger and better ways to support Rosemere. Stay tuned for more updates - and thank you for all your support.
